Who I am
Educator, consultant, traveler, and host.
Anthony DePass—Tony to most people—is an educator and consultant, a frequent traveler, and the host of The Little Lake House at Center Hill Lake. I have been coming to Tennessee for more than twenty years.
I created Tony’s Guide after repeatedly helping visitors move beyond generic attraction lists. Most people do not need more possibilities. They need help deciding what deserves their limited time, what fits their group, and what looks better online than it feels in a real itinerary.
My editorial standard
Facts should be verified. Opinions should be honest.
I will tell you what I think is worth doing, what depends on the traveler, and what I would skip. Independence does not mean the absence of opinions; it means the judgment is mine and the relationship behind the publication is disclosed.
How I reach a recommendation
I weigh payoff, effort, travel time, access, audience, conditions, and what the experience displaces from the rest of the day.
What I know firsthand
Personal observations are presented as observations. Researched recommendations are not dressed up as firsthand experience, and changing details should be checked at their official source.
Why disagreement belongs here
A guide with judgment will not please everyone. Corrections, better evidence, suggestions, and reasoned disagreement make the publication stronger.
The relationship to The Little Lake House
The guide stands on its own. The connection is not hidden.
Tony’s Guide is an independent editorial project created by Tony DePass and published by The Little Lake House. You do not need to stay at the house to use it.
The property shaped the guide because guests asked practical questions and because its location makes particular kinds of Center Hill Lake trips possible. When the house has a genuine location or design advantage, I will say so. When a recommendation does not depend on where you stay, the guide should make that equally clear.
