Center Hill First-Day Loop

This is the route I would give a first-time guest who wants to understand where they are without spending the whole day in the car. It starts at the nearest public water access, adds one strong view of the larger lake and finishes where food or supplies are easy.

Downtown Smithville

Why it belongs

This is where a scenic day can also solve lunch, groceries, fuel and the forgotten item.

What I want you to notice

Use the square as a real community center, not merely a supply stop. Confirm business hours before relying on a particular shop or meal.

Effort and access

Easy town stop. Sidewalk conditions and individual entrances vary.

The choices that keep this route honest.

I would not miss

Puckett Point. Ten quiet minutes there makes the house’s position and the lake’s branching shape much easier to understand.

I would cut

Cut Edgar Evins if weather turns or the group is already tired. The Craft Center gives the fallback more substance than a forced overlook in bad conditions.

Food plan

Finish in Smithville when you need groceries too. One useful stop is better than separate food and supply runs.

My turn-back point

If the full loop is running late at Edgar Evins, go directly to Smithville. The Craft Center deserves more than a rushed closing-time visit.
